Alakay “Alex” is the star and king of the New York Zoo. People come from all over the world to see the famous lion bust a move on his podium. The Madagascar star is the headstrong leader of the pack and best friends with Marty the Zebra. He is used to the comfort and laid back lifestyle at the zoo, but quickly adapts to life in the wild. He is smart, fast on his feet and a little self-absorbed, often not seeing the problems of fellow Madagascar troops.
